The first time that Gulf appears in the motorsport world, backing the Morman Meteor and the first success.
1938
Gulf Miller broke 14 Class D speed records with Gulf-Miller cars.
1965
Gulf begins to establish its international presence by joining forces with John Wyer (JW Automotive Engineering) to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
1967
Gulf JW Automotive. First race victories: Mirage - Ford M1 wins its first victory at the SPA 1000 km, at the hands of Jackye Ickx and Richard Thompson.
1968
Gulf wins the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time with the Ford GT40 driven by Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi. This same year, sponsorship activities are expanded to include the McLaren team in Can-Am, Indycar, and Formula One races, achieving significant victories, including 7 in Formula One.
1968
Gulf expands its sponsorship of the McLaren team in Can-Am, Indycar and F1 racing. This partnership resulted in numerous victories and lasted until 1974.
1969

Victory with the Ford GT40 by the tram led by Jackie Oliver and Jackye Ickx.

Gulf´s 917k wins the 24 hour of Daytona with the trio of Rodriguez, Kinnunen and Redman.
1971
The brand receives a significant boost with the release of Steve McQueen's film Le Mans.
1975
victory at Le Mans with the team of Derek Bell and Jackye Ickx. After several more significant wins, Gulf temporarily withdraws from racing.
1994
Gulf returns to competition with the Porsche Kremer driven by Dereck Bell.
1995
Gulf resumed its sporting partnership with McLaren with F1 GTR. This partnership lasted until 1997.
2001
Gulf begins its sporting partnership, this time with the Audi team. The model chosen was an R8 in Gulf livery. Winning the drivers and team victory in the “European Le Mans series”.
2008
Aston Martin Racing joined the partnership and competed in the Le Mans 24h race that same year.
2020
Gulf re-enters Formula 1 through a partnership with McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive.
2023
The company partners with Williams Racing and goes beyond Formula 1 with the Williams Racing Driver Academy and Williams Esports teams, by supporting tomorrow’s drivers in their motorsport careers.
